Elisa Grossbard

Elisa GrossbardToddlers to school-age children love working with Livingston resident Elisa Grossbard.

Elisa received a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy from NYU. Throughout her career, she has worked in hospitals, including the NICU with premature infants, outpatient clinics, in early intervention, and various school settings such as special educational preschools, private preschools, in public schools, as well as in schools for children with autism and emotional difficulties. Elisa is certified as an Advanced Mentored Clinician in SPD Level 1, having completed the Advanced Intensive Mentorship from the Sensory Processing Foundation. Elisa will be listed in New Jersey Famiy's "NJ Favorite Kids' Docs and Exceptional Healthcare Providers" of 2014. The professionals on the list are nominated as "exceptional" by readers of the magazine.

After 20+ years working as an occupational therapist, Elisa continues to be passionate about a career she truly loves. She particularly enjoys working on oral motor and feeding issues, sensory processing problems, as well as with preschoolers for kindergarten readiness. Her “wholistic” treatment approach is full of energy, creativity and most of all fun for her clients while they achieve goals and gain confidence in all areas. Parents laud her as an excellent communicator and facilitator, always responsive to their questions and concerns, and conveying their child's current progress in a meaningful and productive manner. She educates parents and teachers on home and classroom recommendations and exercises. Elisa’s work on behalf of Pediatric Potentials at the JCC of Metrowest includes in-service presentations to their teaching staff on OT suggestions that can improve the classroom experience for the school’s 2 - 5 year-old population.

When Elisa is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband Steve and her three children Ryan, Danny and Allie.
